Total Commander Ultima Prime 4.5 è un ottimo File Manager . Supporta ricerca di file, sincronizzazione di cartelle, ed è multilingue.

Total Commander Ultima Prime è una raccolta di software e set di impostazioni personalizzate riuniti in un unico pacchetto di installazione per aumentare le capacità di Total Commander (file manager).

Questo software non è da confondere alla distribuzione ufficiale fornito da Christian Ghisler ( Total Commander, ora giunto alla versione 7.04a ) che viene trattata in seguito a questo 3D

Total Commander 7.04 a è un eccellente esploratore di cartelle per Windows. Con funzioni avanzate.

Total Commander migliora sostanzialmente l'esploratore di Windows. Fa funzioni di client FTP, permette la ricerca avanzata di files, riscontro del contenuto di vari archivi, menù di favoriti ed un lungo ecc. Al inizio può sembrare difficile da utilizzare, ma non appena ti abitui al suo uso facilita moltissimo i compiti di copia, cancellazione, aggiornamento, decompressione, compressione. Per i nostalgici del MS-DOS permette di digitare comandi di MS-DOS e così mescolare l'uso della tastiera ed il mouse per un migliore utilizzo.

Total Commander Ultima Prime is an extended version of Total Commander 7 Copyright (c) 1993-2007 by Christian Ghisler. Total Commander Ultima Prime is a special distribution of Christian Ghisler's Total Commander with many useful third-party add-ons, plug-ins and customisations. It also contains extended main menu and toolbar, other programs, changed layout and other elements.

The newest version brings another installer's code changes. Since now it is possible to start TC UP with operating system. Because of false alerts provided by antivirus applications, TC UP is installed with safe mode, without any suspicious files. To install whole project's content users should choose "full installation" mode.

The project has gained WinContig application for deframenting files purpose. Advanced users should be satisfy with excellent log viewer called Tail for Win32. The way of providing additional informations in customized columns has been corrected. Some applications (Free Download Manager 2.5 build 755, Opera@USB 9.26, VirtualDub 1.8.0, XnView 1.92.1, TC UP ULTIMATE 1.3) and Total Commander's plugins have been updated to the newest versions.

Total Commander è un'ottima alternativa a Esplora Risorse di Windows. In particolare se hai bisogno di muovere o copiare file e se preferisci farlo utilizzando la tastiera, è uno dei migliori file manager in circolazione.
La caratteristica più importante del programma è la presenza di due finestre affiancate, che possono visualizzare il contenuto di due cartelle differenti. Grazie a questa interfaccia è possibile ad esempio selezionare i file presenti in una della due finestre e spostarli nell'altra senza ulteriori complicazioni. Puoi farlo con il mouse, ma noi ti consigliamo di utilizzare la tastiera, che con poco esercizio diventa lo strumento ideale e più veloce per utilizzare il programma.
Oltre alla normale gestione dei file, Total Commander ti offre diverse opzioni avanzate, come la possibilità di esplorare i file compressi come se fossero cartelle normali, oppure di crearne di nuovi senza ricorrere a programmi esterni. Può anche essere utilizzato come client FTP, permettendoti di lavorare sulle cartelle remote con le stesse opzioni che hai per le cartelle locali, a patto naturalmente di avere i permessi necessari.
Si tratta inoltre di un software estremamente configurabile, ad incominciare dalla toolbar che puoi personalizzare con i collegamenti a qualunque programma ritieni opportuno. Altrettanto adattabile alle tue esigenze è il metodo di visualizzazione delle cartelle: ognuna delle due finestre può mostrare ad esempio una struttura ad albero dell'hard disk, l'anteprima dei file, le loro proprietà e molto altro ancora.
