Il file usrcheat è stato creato tramite Action Replay Code Manager e Cheat Code Editor per tutti i giochi esistenti in Europa, USA e Giappone.
Le istruzioni sono solo per R4 originale utilizzando Wood.

Attiva le Cheat (Start->Impostazioni ... spostati con R fino a trovare la schermata "patches" ... la voce Cheat/Action Replay devi mettere ABILITA)
- copia il file USRCHEAT.DAT dentro la cartella _rpg>cheats
- posizionati sul gioco e premi Y
- ti appare una finestra e ora premi X (è anche scritto)
- Se disponibili nel file USRCHEAT.DAT che stai usando ti usciranno i trucchi disponibili per quel gioco
- seleziona tutti i trucchi che vuoi attivare premendo A (quando "attivi" un trucco vicino appare un quadrato nero) - un quadrato diviso in 4 invece significa che all'interno ci sono una serie di trucchi (riuniti per tipologia) premi A e si apre la lista, premi ancora A e si attiva il trucco (apparirà sempre il solito quadrato nero)
- premendo ora "Y" vedrai quale combinazione di tasti premere nel gioco per attivare i trucchi selezionati
- Quando hai finito a scegliere i trucchi premi X (Generate)
- torna alla lista iniziale, premi A per lanciare il gioco con i trucchi che hai scelto
